MacRitchie Reservoir Park

Category: Open to the public (Nature-Park)

It’s another saturday morning, instead of lying rested in my bed, I stood up and ride a bus towards MacRitchie Reservoir. It’s my first time  again but I did it anyway though I didn’t reach the HSBC hanging bridge which is suppose to be my ultimate goal, to me I can say -it’s ok, anyway to me there’s always a next time and the next time round is better than the first.

Reaching the place around 8:00 in the morning, the thought that since it’s 12 hectares maybe I don’t see much of people around, may be the place is mostly for the hikers, but then based on what I notice, there was a lot of sporty folks already, a place where young and old meets. From sporty to none, from a pro photographer to an aspirant or simply an observer like me. We’ll be scared if nobody’s around and you walk alone in the trail than having many folks along the trail busy attending their own early satuday macritchie routine. So, just go with the flow.

The MacRitchie Reservoir is one of the four reservoirs that bound Singapore’s nature reserves. Other reservoirs include the Lower Peirce Reservoir, the Upper Peirce Reservoir and the Upper Seletar Reservoir. Serving as water catchment areas, forests surrounding these reservoirs are protected from agricultural activities in order to ensure the quality of the water.
